Charlotte Coombes, Good Fish Guide Manager

Charlotte Coombes

Good Fish Guide Manager

Charlotte manages the Good Fish Guide programme, which underpins our work to influence UK businesses and consumers to make responsible seafood choices. This includes coordinating over 600 sustainability assessments for over 150 species of farmed and wild caught seafood, and updating our smartphone app and pocket guide. Charlotte graduated from Aberystwyth University with a BSc Hons in Marine and freshwater Biology and now has more than ten years of experience in marine conservation and ecology. She joined MCS in 2012 and considers herself incredibly lucky to have worked across all areas of our conservation work, from managing databases, to leading our Beachwatch citizen science programme, to supporting our ground-breaking Community Voice stakeholder engagement work. Charlotte is an experienced project manager, and has developed our project management framework and approach to organisational strategy, growing MCS’s use of Theory of Change and impact measurement. After several years of supporting the Good Fish Guide, assessing the sustainability of global tuna fisheries, Charlotte was delighted to officially join the Fisheries and Aquaculture team in 2019. In her spare time, you might find Charlotte samba drumming at festivals.
