Local Residents will be cleaning up the beach at Normans Bay on the 25th of September (Wednesday) as part of the the national beach cleaning week.

We plan to spend 2 hours cleaning the beach, between 10.30-12.30pm.

What you need to bring:

1. Packed lunch & voltuneers to bring their own drinks/refreshments.

2. Suitable footwear - hiking boots/waterproof shoes with a good level of support for your feet (the beach is pebbled).

3. Gloves - gardening gloves are fine.

4. Hand picker (not essential but if you have one please bring it - these will not be provided on the day).

5. Water related clothing & suncream - waterproof clothing/sun hats/suncream.

The organiser will have a first aid kit & a mobile phone for emergencies & hand gel.

Unfortunatley the public toilets in Normans Bay have been closed.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.

49 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
