Join the Marine Conservation Society and our sponsor Cully and Sully Soup for a family-friendly beach clean and litter survey at beautiful West Kirby beach.

All ages welcome. Under 16's will need to be accompanied by an adult. As there is a cap on the number of people I can provide equipment for, please register your interest so you don't miss out.

Equipment:

All equipment will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer to (gardening gloves are fine). Please dress for the weather and bring comfortable footwear. Water in a reusable bottle is advised (beach cleaning can be thirsty work!)

Getting to the clean:

The Marine Conservation Society encourage sustainable transport to beach cleans wherever possible.

Public Transport:

There are good train links to West Kirby Train train station. There is a short 10-minute walk from the station to the beach. Please factor this into your travel times. There are also frequent bus services to West Kirby centre (a 5 minutes walk from the beach).

Car:

West Kirby Concourse Car Park and Dee Lane Car Park (pay and displays) are popular choices. There is also street parking available along South Parade, but please be aware that these spots tend to get taken quite early in the day. MCS encourage car sharing wherever possible.

Accessibility:

We want to ensure this event is as accessible as possible. Please talk to us ahead of booking if you have any health conditions, access needs or Special Educational Needs and we will do our best to support your participation. If you have any questions or access needs, please contact: [email protected]

The beach has a ramp access from the promenade. The beach is sandy and the gradient changes each day, but generally it remains flat.

Toilets:

Public toilets are available next to the beach on the prom, which is flat terrain.

Hope to see you there!

Beach stretch details

This stretch starts at the bottom of the slipway on the beach (to the right of the watersports centre) and ends where the steps lead up to Riversdale Road

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.

91 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
